Relevant Professional Experience:
Before coming to the IRM College, Dr. Alden was the Director of Executive Programs at University of Maryland University College from 1985-1991.  Prior to that, he was the Program Manager of the ARINC Research Corporation, 1983-1985, and the Director of Research and Evaluation at the Xerox Corporation.

Scholarship:
Dr. Alden has remained intellectually active during his time at NDU. His most recent publication (2006) is entitled “Measuring the Unmeasurable” and was published in the Journal of Performance Improvement.  In 2005, Dr. Alden presented “Managing Team Projects in Online Courses” at the DISTED conference in Madison, Wisconsin.  One of his current interests is the scholarship around Communities of Practice.  He also serves as Chief Editor of the IRM Community Center.
