Allison Brueckner, M.I.S.—cAliCo

Allison Brueckner is the sole proprietor of cAliCo Information Consulting and is a technology librarian for the Dexter District Library in Michigan. She has three years work experience with non-for-profit research and development organizations, five years academic library experience, five years state government experience and eight years military experience. Mrs. Brueckner received her Bachelors in Liberal Arts, majoring in English, from Indiana University in 1996 and her Masters in Information Science, also from Indiana University, in December 1999.

As an active resident of the 3-D virtual world, Second Life™, Ms. Brueckner (SL alias: Teofila Matova) is owner of her own art gallery, A.R.t Galerie, where she sells real life art created by various artists from around the real world, in Second Life. She is a reference librarian with the Second Life Library 2.0 initiative on Information Island and is the head of the Colonel Exrex Somme Reference Collection at the Whitehorn Memorial Library, which is located on a 19th Century, Victorian sim. Recently, Ms. Brueckner became sim manager for a new sim called Talis Cybrary Island. This sim is dedicated to computer, library and information science communities who are new to Second Life. The aim of Cybrary Island is to create more of a global network within these professional communities and seeks residents who are not from the United States, making it unique to other like-minded sims.
