"The View from the Bridge: Sailing in Formation with the State Department"

NDU President VADM Fritz Roegge writes in the July/August issue of Foreign Service Journal that the "significant positive effects" of State Department diplomats serving directly alongside military officers, include "a shared sense of purpose ... to serve the nation, preserve our freedom and promote our values."


On Thursday, June 7, 2018, the National Defense University held its annual graduation ceremony outdoors in front of historic Roosevelt Hall at Fort Lesley J. McNair in Washington, DC. NDU's four colleges graduated 665 students. Gen. Paul J. Selva, USAF, Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was this year’s keynote speaker. Degrees were conferred by NDU's 16th President VADM Fritz Roegge, USN; NDU Provost Dr. John W. Yaeger (CAPT, USN, Ret.); and the commandants and chancellors of the colleges.

Vice Chairman Delivers Commencement Address at National Defense University

On Thursday, June 7, 2018, General Paul J. Selva, USAF, Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, delivered the commencement address at the National Defense University (NDU). The ceremony took place in front of historic Roosevelt Hall at Fort Lesley J. McNair in Washington, DC. The University’s four colleges conferred certificates and master’s degrees on 655 students.

The 2018 National Defense University (NDU) Ft. McNair graduation ceremony will be held outside on Thursday, June 7, 2018, at 1000, in front of historic Roosevelt Hall at Fort Lesley J. McNair in Washington, DC. The University's four colleges will graduate approximately 665 students.


Global Alumni Summit

The upcoming alumni summit, Global Alumni Summit: Combating Terrorism and Building Partner Capacity, will be held June 25-29, 2018, in Rabat, Morocco. This is a collaborative event with NDU’s College of International Security Affairs (CISA), International Student Management Office (ISMO), and Africa Center for Strategic Studies (ACSS). We encourage attendance by all alumni, both U.S. and international. The university is moving towards building a more powerful alumni network across all the colleges.
