| The Office of Institutional Research
(OIR) is a trusted provider of accurate, timely, unbiased, research-based
information regarding The National Defense University, in support
of the University’s mission. The OIR provides information
and analysis support for the planning, decision-making, assessment,
and reporting needs of the NDU leadership.
The OIR supports its mission through the following elements:
- The OIR serves as the institution’s official repository
of data beyond the operational systems, to ensure integrity, accuracy,
consistency, and appropriateness in the ethical use of data.
- The OIR is the single point for release of data and the source
of authoritative data for the University.
- The OIR develops, coordinates and maintains a timely, useful University
fact book.
- The OIR prepares routine, recurring, ad-hoc, and other reports
that meet the needs of the senior leadership of the University.
The Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs is also the OIR Director and reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
