Courses
The Academic Program at CHDS is designed around a series of courses, seminars, conferences, workshops, and research. The courses, upon which a solid educational foundation is built, are sustained and enhanced through several additional educational opportunities, including advanced topic-specific courses, which are accredited through the National Defense University. The accredited course are designed primarily for CHDS graduates.
» Foundational CoursesThe core of the academic program at CHDS consists of one-, two- and three-week courses. These courses are primarily held at CHDS, with some courses conducted in the region. The courses are designed to give participants a solid foundation concerning the issues confronting the defense and security sectors. These foundational courses normally are prerequisites to the accredited courses. » Advanced CoursesAdvanced courses are primarily designed to enhance and continue the education of CHDS Fellows (graduates). The first advanced course was introduced in June 2007 and included on-line, resident and research components as have all advanced courses since. Advanced courses are in the process of being accredited by the National Defense University for courses beginning in October 2009. |
