Capacity Building in Latin America and the Caribbean: PKO and the Case of Haiti

Abstract

This paper serves to introduce the Special Edition of Security and Defense Studies Review. It discusses the nature of the research project on Capacity Building in Latin America and the Caribbean: PKO and the Case of Haiti. The paper develops the hypotheses, research questions, and the methodology of the study. Finally, an appendix, provides a list of the nine research questions and their subordinate questions.

Este estudio constituye la introducción de la Edición Especial de la Revista de Estudios de Seguridad y Defensa (Security and Defense Studies Review). Examina la naturaleza del proyecto de investigación sobre Desarrollo de Capacidades en Latinoamérica y el Caribe: Operaciones de Mantenimiento de Paz y el Caso Haití. El trabajo desarrolla la hipótesis, preguntas de investigación y metodología del estudio. Por último, un anexo incluye una lista de las nueve preguntas de investigación y las correspondientes preguntas complementarias

Este artigo destina-se a introduzir a Edição especial de Security and Defense Studies Review (Análise dos estudos de defesa e segurança). Analisa a natureza do projeto de pesquisa sobre Desenvolvimento do Potencial na América Latina e no Caribe: Operações de Paz e o Caso do Haiti. O artigo desenvolve as hipóteses, as perguntas da pesquisa e a metodologia do estudo. Finalmente, um apêndice fornece uma lista de nove perguntas e suas questões subordinadas
