Gabriel Urchipia and Jose Torres
José Torres is the CHDS librarian at the National Defense University (NDU) Library. Mr. Torres holds a Masters degree in Library Science from St. John's University in New York, and a Juris Doctor degree from Marquette University Law School in Wisconsin. Before joining NDU, Mr. Torres worked as a Legal Reference Specialist at the Law Library of Congress. He is currently developing the Guide to Legal Military Resources from Latin America, North America, and the Caribbean, a web resource for military legal information. He participates in developing Military Policy Awareness Links (MiPALs) on Latin America and the Caribbean. MiPALs are produced by NDU's Military Education Research Library Network office (MERLN) as a current awareness service for researchers and MERLN users worldwide.
Gabriel O. Urchipia is a Captain in the Argentine Navy and was a visiting scholar at the Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies (CHDS) at the National Defense University (NDU) in Washington, D.C. He obtained an MBA degree at Salve Regina University in Rhode Island and is a graduate of the Naval Command College in Newport, Rhode Island. Captain Urchipia holds two Bachelors’ degrees, one in Operational Research and one in Naval Systems. During his 27 years of active duty, he has served on board several Navy surface ships. He has continued his military education, taking courses in Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and the United States.
