Defense, Internal Security and the Other Roles of Belize’s Military

Dion E. Phillips, Ph.D.

Dr. Dion E. Phillips, from Barbados, has taught at Howard University and now at the University of the Virgin Islands, St. Thomas campus, where he is a Professor of sociology and Chair of the Social Sciences Division.  He is co-editor of Militarization in the Non-Hispanic Caribbean and has authored a number of book chapters and articles, in Caribbean, Canadian, Latin American and US publications and journals, on the military of the Caribbean.
