Shawn Smallman

Professor Shawn Smallman is the Director of International Studies at Portland State University.  His book, Fear and Memory in the Brazilian Army and Society, 1889-1954, recently was published by the University of North Carolina. He has also published a number of articles on the Brazilian military in the Latin American Research Review, Hispanic American Historical Review, Luso-Brazilian Review and the Canadian Journal of Latin American and Caribbean Studies.
