CHDS Stratcom Chief, Martin Edwin "Mick" Andersen, elected 2011 President for MALAS

Martin Edwin "Mick" Andersen has been elected president for 2011 of the Midwest Association for Latin American Studies (MALAS), a more than 200-member organization that fosters an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to education and research on Latin America.
Andersen Chief of communications and publications programs, is also an assistant professor at the Center.

He serves as the editor of the CHDS Security and Defense Studies Review and currently he is the MALAS vice president.

Andersen has a master's degree in international relations from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a second master's in American history from The Catholic University of America. He is currently studying for his doctorate at Catholic and is expected to graduate in 2011.
