CHDS hosts Guatemalan Senior Defense Studies Course
On May 11th the Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies (CHDS) hosted a group of faculty and students from the Guatemalan Army’s Centro de Altos Estudios Estratégicos (High Strategic Studies Center – CAEE) , a six-month course headed by Colonel Jose Cotzajay Chacon, at the National Defense University’s Abraham Lincoln Hall. The course consisted of 20 military and 11 governmental civilian executives.
The CHDS Deputy Director, Mr. Ken LaPlante, welcomed the visiting scholars and practitioners and presented them with an overview of the Center and its programs.
The Dean of Academics Dr. Luis Bitencourt, Chief of Defense Chair Carlos Ospina, and Professors Jaime Garcia and Guillermo Pacheco led discussions on 4th Generation Warfare, Strategic Defense Leadership, and Defense Policy.
