US Students
To request admission to the College of International Security Affairs at National Defense University, please submit the following material to the Office of Admissions:
2. Official academic transcript(s) from all previously attended colleges and universities.
3. Original, signed letter on agency or government department letterhead from a supervisor with whom the applicant works on a regular basis. This letter must confirm the applicant’s status as a (1) federal, state, or local government employee, (2) member of the military services, or (3) a contractor working full time for the US government.
4. A resume (no more than 2 pages)
Provide a current resume that includes information on, and dates of, your educational history, employment, honors and awards, scholarships, publications, and extracurricular, community and/or volunteer activities.
5. Statement of Purpose (500 word, single-spaced, Times New Roman 12 point font)
Why are you interested in studying at the College of International Security Affairs? Describe your career objectives, and explain how graduate study at the College will help you achieve your professional goals.

Naval War College Master’s Degree Students
Students enrolled in the US Naval War College’s Master’s Degree program who wish to take their electives at the College of International Security Affairs need to provide the following materials to register for courses at the College:

International Students
To request admission to the College of International Security Affairs at National Defense University, please submit the following material to the Office of Admissions:
2. Official academic transcript(s) from all previously attended colleges and universities. Transcripts not in English must be accompanied by a certified English translation. Transcripts should show the name of each course taken and the grade received as well as the year/semester in which it was taken.
3. TOEFL official test score reports
Applicants must contact the testing service to have their official score reports of the TOEFL report sent to the College of International Security Affairs. The institutional code is: 7026. No departmental codes are required. To ensure timely score reporting, we suggest you take the required standardized test at least one month prior to the admissions deadline.
Students who have completed a baccalaureate degree in English are exempt from the TOEFL requirement.

International Counterterrorism Fellowship Program 2009-2010
Students selected for the International Counterterrorism Fellowship Program should submit, if they are able, the following materials prior to their arrival at the College of International Security Affairs. If not, they should bring the following material with them to the College. Fellows will be admitted provisionally to the program until the requirements listed below have been completed and submitted.

Transcripts should show the name of each course taken and the grade received as well as the year/semester in which it was taken.
3. TOEFL official test score reports

Fellows who have not taken the test prior to their arrival will take the test in November.
