Regional Security Studies

The Eisenhower School aims to ensure that all our students gain a greater understanding of the world in a way that will enhance their preciation for the complexities of the local and regional settings in which the
US must pursue its security interests. The Regional Security Study Program does this in two ways:
- First, the Program sponsors lectures for the entire student body on selected regions. Together these events will highlight major concerns across the globe for every student.
- Second, each student has a chance to study one region in some detail. Students are assigned to one of their top choices from among eighteen different regional seminars. These seminars meet for ten two-hour sessions to
examine strategic thinking about US policy within the context of one region's specific political, economic, cultural and security settings. Students prepare individual papers to supplement group
learning through guest speakers, assigned readings, and class discussion.
