The Center for Information Assurance Education (CIAE) was formally established in April 2001. This is a renewal of the CIAE charter. The CIAE is hereby established within the Information Resources Management College of the National Defense University. The CIAE mission is to advance understanding through quality education for leaders, applied research, scholarship, partnerships, and sponsorship of symposia in the the fields of information operations and cyber security including information assurance and security, critical infrastructure protection, homeland security information management, and computer network operations.
The center serves to further the educational needs of the Department of Defense and the U.S. Federal Government by providing information assurance certificates to Chief Information Officers/Chief Information Security Officers and their subordinates to fulfill the educational requirements of the Clinger-Cohen act of 1996 and the Federal Information Security Management Act of 2000.
