Safe Assignment
The iCollege requires its students to adhere to the College's Academic Integrity policy. Students are required to cite the intellectual contributions to their papers that are not their own using the appropriate APA format (see the IRMC College Publications Guide in the Student Success Course). In an effort to assist our students in avoiding plagiarism, the College makes available a tool that will identify when students are using intellectual resources that have been published. Students submit a copy of their paper electronically and receive results that show them where they have used another’s intellectual work. The tool is available to all our students in the Student Success Course in BlackBoard (Bb). While this tool is helpful, it may not identify all of the sources used by a student in a paper. The faculty also check papers for plagiarism based on their knowledge of the field.
To find the tool:
- Log into Bb.
- Click on the Student Success Course link.
- Click on Safe Assignment button on the left.
