USCG Shuttle Bus || [ directions ]
A shuttle bus service runs from the US Coast Guard Headquarters (next to NDU) to the
L'Enfant Plaza Metro Station daily between 530 and 1640 Monday-Friday. This service is available to those with appropriate ID and at no cost.

The USG shuttle bus requires DHS, USCG, NDU ID/badge or US Federal Government ID, although
Military ID with orders is also generally accepted, particularly when in uniform.
- Take the METRO Orange, Blue, Green or Yellow line to L'Enfant Plaza Metro Rail Station
- Exit toward 7th & D Streets/Department of Transportation. DO NOT EXIT TOWARD L'ENFANT PLAZA
- At the top of the escalator, turn right at Au Bon Pain, go through D Street exit door
- Once outside, walk towards the street. You will see a set of stairs to your right
- Take the stairs. At the bottom of the stairs, go right
- The Coast Guard Shuttle shares a stop with the bus. The shuttle goes straight to USCG Headquarters
- The line for the shuttle bus forms at the top of the steps
- The bus leaves every 15 minutes during morning and evening rush hours, then every half hour until 6pm
- This shuttle goes straight to the USCG HQ and stops in front at the North Entrance on V Street
- Shuttle departs from there to return to L'Enfant Metro station at the DOT HQ. Have your ID ready
- The shuttle bus is either a white bus or a dark blue and white bus
- Do not confuse it with the METRO bus that stops at the same location nor the buses parked at 2nd street and V
