Mr. Kofman is a Program Manager at INSS. His current work focuses on counterinsurgency and counterterrorism in Pakistan along with cooperative threat reduction with Russia.  Michael Kofman manages the US-Pakistan Senior Officers Program along with other INSS military to military exchanges with Pakistan and previously ran the US-Russia Colonels Program.

Prior to joining INSS, Mr. Kofman was a contributing writer to the Diplomatic Courier on security issues in the Middle East and South Asia.  He has a broad range of experience, having served as a compliance analyst at the government and institutional banking division of HSBC Bank and a research assistant at the United States Institute of Peace, working on issues in public diplomacy and political reform in the Muslim World. 

Mr. Kofman has numerous articles appearing in the print and online edition of the Diplomatic Courier along with contributions to other publications at National Defense University.  He received his M.A. in International Security from the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University, Washington, D.C.
