Using a combination of newly-available archival material and recollections from former government officials, "The Iran-Iraq War: The View from Baghdad" seeks to re-examine the bloody eight-year conflict from a wide variety of informed perspectives. This event is co-sponsored by the Wilson Center’s History and Public Policy Program and Middle East Program, along with the Conflict Records Research Center at the National Defense University.
Participants include:
Prince Turki al-Faisal, former ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United States and former director general of Saudi Arabia’s General Intelligence Directorate, Mansour Farhang, former Iranian ambassador to the United Nations, and David Newton, former United States Ambassador to Iraq.
