Research Highlights Vol 2, No 2, v3
The Office of the Vice President for Research and Applied Learning
Compiled by Captain Mark Redden, Center for Strategic Research
These Research Highlights provide senior leadership at NDU, in the Pentagon, and throughout the broader policy and think tank community with unique insights into the full range of the work conducted here, including publications, major trip reports, significant conferences, seminars and simulations.
Perhaps the most robust to date, this issue synopsizes over a dozen research endeavors that have taken place since the Winter issue. Here we have Strategic Forum No. 274 written by David C. Gompert and Michael Kofman entitled "Raising Our Sights: Russian-American Strategic Restraint in an Age of Vulnerability"; "Russia and the Iranian Nuclear Program: Replay or Breakthrough" by Dr. John Parker comprised the ninth Strategic Perspective of our new series. Dr. Thomas F. Lynch III launched the "80 Percent Solution: The Strategic Defeat of bin Laden's al-Qaeda and Implications for South Asian Security" in partnership with the New America Foundation; Dr. Thierno Mouctar Bah published the Africa Center for Strategic Studies' Africa Security Brief No. 19 entitled "Addressing Côte d’Ivoire’s Deeper Crisis" which was complemented by Africa Security Brief No. 20 entitled "Boko Haram: An Evolving Threat" by Africa Center for Strategic Studies, written by Peter Pham.
