Joint Force Quarterly (JFQ)
About
NDU Press produces JFQ in concert with ongoing education and research at National Defense University in support of the Secretary of Defense and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. JFQ is the Chairman's joint military and security studies journal designed to inform and educate national security professionals on joint and integrated operations; whole of government contributions to national security policy and strategy; homeland security; and developments in training and joint military education to better equip America's military and security apparatus to meet tomorrow's challenges while protecting freedom today.

PRISM
About
PRISM is a quarterly national security journal tailored to serve policy-makers, scholars and practitioners working to enhance U.S. Government competency in complex operations by exploring whole-of-community approaches among U.S. Government agencies, academic institutions, international governments and militaries, non-governmental organizations and other participants in the complex operations space. PRISM is chartered by the Center for Complex Operations (CCO) and it welcomes articles on a broad range of complex operations issues, especially those that focus on the nexus of civil-military integration.

PRISM Manuscript Submissions
Policy Briefs
About
Policy briefs are sponsored by NDU regional and research centers and vary from 4,000 to 8,500 words (including notes).
While most authors of policy briefs are in-house research fellows, National Defense University components are receptive
to submissions from outside subject matter experts. Manuscripts should be submitted to the individual research directors
within each institution. Product line examples include "Defense Horizons" for the Center for Technology and National Security Policy and "Strategic Forum" for the Institute for National Strategic Studies.

Guidelines for submission are established by the sponsoring organizations. NDU Press establishes a unique style template for each series and
each institution posts sponsored policy papers on their individual websites.
Occasional Papers
About
Occasional Papers are sponsored by NDU colleges and research centers and can accommodate up to 25,000 words (including notes). These rugged, four color, saddle-stitched publications come in two sizes: 6" x 9" and 8.5" x 11". Each volume is color-coded and numbered per the specifications of the source institution, with past volumes available for electronic download in PDF format in the NDU Press archive.

Books
About
Scholarly publications in excess of 60,000 words can be published in hard or soft cover, with formats ranging from PDFs to DVDs and multi-volume boxed sets. Options include indexing, color graphics, slip covers, and fold-outs. The entire historic line of NDU Press books are listed in the NDU Press archive, however older volumes may not be available for electronic download.
Submission and Distribution
NDU Press produces books in both paper and electronic formats through the Government Printing Office and in cooperation with U.S. commercial
publishing houses. NDU Press does not enter into exclusive relationships with any commercial agency and makes manuscripts available
in electronic form to all U.S. citizens upon request. NDU Press cannot accept remuneration in any form for its publications.
