MR. JAN KNUTSSON

Mr. Knutsson is currently serving as Minister for Political Affairs at the Embassy of Sweden in Washington, D.C. His previous diplomatic assignments have taken him to Peking, Moscow and Paris. He was a member of the Policy Planning staff at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Stockholm 1992-1995. Before taking up his post in Washington, D.C. in 1997, he was Deputy Director for the Division of European Security Policy. Mr. Knutsson has earned a Master's degree from the Stockholm School of Economics and a BA in History and Soviet Studies from Uppsala University. He has also been a research assistant at the Stockholm Institute for Soviet and East European Economies, and published a book about China.
