DR. JOACHIM
KRAUSE
Dr. Krause graduated from the University of Hamburg (Germany). He finished his Ph.D at the Free University of Berlin and his Habilitation at Bonn University. Since 1993 he is Deputy Director of the Research Institute of the German Council on Foreign Relations (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Auswärtige Politik - DGAP) in Bonn, now in Berlin. Before that he was Researcher and Director of Studies with the Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik, Research Institute for International Affairs, in Ebenhausen near München. He was member of the German delegation to the Conference on Disarmament in 1988 and 1989 and consultant to UNSCOM in 1991. In 1986/87 he was Resident Fellow at the Institute for East-West-Security Studies in New York. In 1998/1999 he was member of the Tokyo Forum for Nuclear Non-Proliferation and Disarmament. He has taught Political Science at the University of Bamberg, the University of the Armed Forces in Munich and at the University of Bonn, he currently teaches Political Science as an adjunct professor at Potsdam University. Since 1999 he is member of the Council of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), London.
