2000 JOINT OPERATIONS SYMPOSIUM

Quadrennial Defense Review 2001:  Options and Issues for the Next Administration - November 8-9, 2000"

The Sixth Annual National Defense University Joint Operations Symposium was  held at Fort McNair's Marshall Hall on November 8 and 9, 2000.  Titled “QDR 2001:  Options and Issues for the Next Administration,” the symposium provided an informed debate on the critical issues and hard choices that must be confronted in the 2001 Quadrennial Defense Review.   The purpose of the Symposium was to frame issues and build intellectual capital for the upcoming QDR based on the results of the NDU QDR 2001 Working Group--a yearlong study sponsored by the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff and NDU's Institute for National Strategic Studies.

Seven panels will frame issues and options for the next administration in each of the following areas.
