PAMELA B. BERKOWSKY
Pamela Berkowsky is the Assistant to the
Secretary of Defense for Civil Support.
In this role, she coordinates the Department's weapons of mass
destruction consequence management efforts and serves as liaison with the
National Security Council and Cabinet agencies. In this regard, she also provides civilian oversight for the
Joint Task Force-Civil Support located at Joint Forces Command. In addition, Ms. Berkowsky is the Assistant
Chief of Staff to the Secretary of Defense, advising the Secretary and Chief of
Staff on significant policy and personnel matters for the Department. She has served in a variety of positions in
the Departments of Defense and Navy since 1988. Ms. Berkowsky earned a Master's Degree from the Fletcher School
of Law and Diplomacy, a Bachelor's Degree from Princeton University's Woodrow
Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, and spent a year studying at
the Institut universitaire de hautes
etudes internationales in Geneva, Switzerland, as a Fulbright Scholar.
