CAPTAIN ALEXANDER L. URRUTIA, U.S. NAVY 

Captain Urrutia graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and Technology.  After graduation from the Naval Academy, he completed Naval Nuclear training and was assigned to the guided missile nuclear cruiser, USS SOUTH CAROLINA (CGN 37), as a Machinery Division Officer and Main Propulsion Assistant between 1981 and 1983.  Later assignments included: Navigation/Administration Department Head, guided missile cruiser, USS MISSISSIPPI (CGN 40), Weapons Officer, guided missile destroyer, USS TATTNALL (DDG 19), Executive Officer, USS ANTRIM (FFG 20), and Commanding Officer USS NICHOLSON (DD 982).  Captain Urrutia’s past shore assignments include: Advanced Combat Direction Systems (ACDS) Platform Officer, Fleet Combat Training Center, Dam Neck; student Naval Post Graduate School, Monetary, California, where he earned an MS in Financial Management; Flag Secretary for Commander, Naval Surface Forces, U.S. Atlantic Fleet; and student Naval War College, Newport, Rhode Island, where he earned an MS in National Security Affairs.  Captain Urrutia is currently serving as the Deputy Director for Joint Interoperability and Integration on the staff of U.S. Joint Forces Command.
