

CUX Partnership Best Practice Award

The Corporate University Xchange (CUX) awarded the Information Resources Management (IRM) College a 2007 Best Practices Award in Corporate/College partnerships, recognizing the College’s partnerships with colleges and universities to address critical business challenges. The CUX Awards salute corporate and government learning organizations that develop programs resulting in measurable improvements in employee and business performance. Since the mid 1990’s the IRM College has formed academic partnerships with nearly 30 universities across the country that now accept course credit for IRM College graduates, saving the U.S. Government over one million dollars to date.
Federal 100 Award
2001 and 2002
The Federal 100 Award is presented by Federal Computer Week to public and private sector information technology professionals who make outstanding contributions to the government IT community. In 2001 and 2002, the IRM College Director Dr. Robert Childs was awarded the Federal 100 Award for his role in developing and expanding programs to better train federal chief information officers. These expansions included an e-government program with courses on e-business, knowledge management, digital technologies, organizational transformation, and Web portal technology. Dr. Childs also expanded offerings on information assurance and critical infrastructure protection.

The Potomac Forum, a non-profit educational institute serving government, academia and private industry, awarded the Information Resources Management (IRM)
College a 2004 Leadership award in the category of successful telework policies and procedures. The College's telework program, using carefully crafted policies and procedures in operation since 2000, has provided: 1) demonstrable improvements in College productivity, efficiency, and morale; 2) practical, first-hand experience in leveraging information technology for strategic mission advantage for faculty; and 3) continuity of College operations during emergency conditions that have closed the rest of the University. Because of these and other tangible successes accruing to the program, the Potomac Forum awarded the IRM College the Best in Class award for Telework in the Federal Government Leadership.
AFCEA Golden Link Award
2003

The Information Resources Management College received the Golden Link Award for its collaboration with industry to advance e-learning in the Department of Defense (DoD). The college led a collaborative development effort that brought together the DoD standards community for distributed learning (SCORM) with Blackboard, the largest commercial e-learning software company. The College leveraged the flexibility of Blackboard's software by adding a SCORM extension that provided 100% SCORM compatibility. The outcome benefits the entire DoD, civilian government agencies, academic institutions, and industry educators.
Authorization to award the NSTISSI 4011 Standard Certificaton
March 2006

The IRM College again received national recognition for its curriculum in Information Systems Security. After reviewing the curriculum for its alignment with critical competencies required for information systems security professionals, a national board of subject matter experts re-authorized the college for another three year term (2003 - 2006) to award the NSTISSI No. 4011 National Training Standard to qualified graduates of the Information Assurance Program.
NSA Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance
March 2006

The National Security Agency (NSA) and Department of Homeland Security named the IRM College as a Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education for a second term (2006 - 2009). The NSA evaluated the College in a number of areas, including the curriculum, the practice of information assurance, student research, promotion of information assurance through websites and online learning, faculty scholarship, and library access to information assurance content.
eGov Trailblazer Award for eGovernment Leadership Program
June 2002

The IRM College received the Trailblazer Award from the e-gov Government Solutions Center for the development of its program, the eGovernment Leadership Certificate Program. In response to the challenges facing agencies, the mandates of senior government leaders, and advances in technology and organizations, an academic program – the eGovernment Leadership Certificate - was designed to prepare leaders for the challenges of government in the Information Age.

Corporate University Xchange and London Financial Times recognized the IRM College for its consistent innovation, sustained performance, and overall best practices in corporate learning in the category of "Utilizing Technology to Create a Continuous Learning Environment."
