Relevant Professional Experience:
Lt Col McGovern served as the Chief of the Chief of Staff of the Air Force’s Executive Briefing Team and Speech Writer for United States Strategic Command’s Director of Global Operations. In these positions he provided research and advice to senior leaders on a wide range of operational issues. Additionally he served in managerial positions in the areas of Nuclear Missile Operations, Satellite Operations, and the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps.
Scholarship:
Lt Col McGovern’s doctoral dissertation focused on workplace leader development efforts in the United States Air Force. In his previous assignments he conducted research, authored manuscripts, and created presentations on strategic operational issues in the areas of knowledge management, leadership, net centric warfare, space operations, information operations, aerial operations, and cyber warfare. He was also part of a team partnership with MIT’s Lincoln Laboratory that paired orbital mechanic research with practitioner application.
