Partner Activities
The Center is exploring collaboration opportunities with George Mason University's Critical Infrastructure Protection Program, and with NATO's Cyber Defense Center of Excellence. Faculty associated with the Center have participated in events hosted by both organizations and have hosted visit by their representatives. We are currently exploring collaborative research opportunities. In addition, one of the leaders of the NATO CCD will be lecturing in our courses during 2009.
The Center has collaborative efforts with industry, government and education partners. In the past the Center has presented hands-on education and training in computer attack and defense at the Convurge and GovSec Conferences. The Center has also worked to provide specific education and training modules for the Government Accountability Office (GAO), Environmental Protection Agency, and the Customs & Border Patrol, as well as each of the Department of Defense Combatant Commands.
The Center annually sponsors a joint meeting with over three dozen of its educational partners in information assurance such as Mississippi State, Air Force Institute of Technology, Auburn, University of Maryland, and Tulsa.
Center members continue to work closely with the Department of Homeland Security in the creation of a Common Body of Knowledge in Software Assurance.
The college has special formalized agreements with industry leaders such as CISCO, Computer Sciences Corporation, and Google to share leading edge development in Information Technology and Security. This technology is highlighted in the Center’s laboratories.
Faculty and students regularly hold discussions and exchange information on information assurance during visits with CIOs and CISOs in cities across the country.
