This research explores Combined Critical Information Infrastructure (CCII) as an essential element of national power and international collaboration. Combined Critical Information Infrastructure Protection (CCIIP) is of enormous importance to the nation. Most critical sectors in a nation are dependent on the CCII.
The armed forces use it to create national power but so do also the finance sector, the business and the Government. The CCII creates national (and international) interdependencies. Because of this, the nations armed forces are an important partner in any national-level CCIIP effort program and stand alongside those elements of the nation's diplomatic and economic strength that also depend on CCII. If the CCII is essential for national power and international collaboration, does the Government have this insight and have they addressed roles, responsibilities and procedures, or is there a need for better defined roles, responsibilities and regulation in this area?
This research is sponsored by the IRM College in collaboration with the Swedish National Defense College.
Members are opening new paths in the analysis of curriculum, standards development, and the efficacy of methodologies for securing critical infrastructure control systems. The center is sponsoring a national level working group for the development of a curriculum standard in SCADA Security similar to the ACM/AIS Model Curriculum. It will be based upon a parallel Common Body of Knowledge effort supported by the Department of Homeland Security.
