Michael Piller—Information Resources Management College, National Defense University Dr. Piller manages the Innovation and Simulations Lab of the IRM College, National Defense University, coordinates experiential learning for the college and is a founding member of the Federal Consortium for Virtual Worlds. The Innovation and Simulations Lab provides a center for simulation and gaming efforts at the college as well as a center for virtual world exploration and crisis management exercises. Dr. Piller’s research has focused on the use of virtual reality technology as a learning environment, transfer of training and to investigate neurological impairments. He has been especially interested in how virtual reality technology can enhance learning and how spatial mental models emerge over time. |
