CAPT Ryman Shoaf
CAPT Ryman Shoaf joined the faculty of the National War College in August of 2008. He is a native of Mocksville, N.C. and graduated from The Citadel with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. He entered Naval Service upon graduation in May 1985. He has completed eight deployments on five different carriers, with the last two as Air Boss on the USS Enterprise. He has been the Commanding Officer of the Sea Control Weapons School and Sea Control Squadron Thirty (VS-30) accumulating over 3,500 hours in the S-3 Viking and 1,000 traps. Captain Shoaf was awarded a Masters Degree in Aeronautical Science in 1994 and another in Strategic Studies and National Security Affairs in 2000. He is a 2005 graduate of the Joint Forces Staff College and has received the Navy Marine Corps Leadership Award and the Admiral James L. Hollowway III Leadership Award for senior officers.
