


LTC Kathleen Taylor joined the NWC faculty in July 2011. She is currently an Academy Professor of Russian at the United States Military Academy at West Point. LTC Taylor was commissioned in 1986 from Rutgers University with a degree in Journalism and Mass Media. She holds a Master of Arts degree in International Affairs, Russian Area Studies from Columbia University and is a graduate of the Army Command & General Staff Officers Course. LTC Taylor holds a PhD in Russian Pedagogy/ Linguistics with minor in Russian Literature. She entered the Army in 1986 as a Military Police officer. LTC Taylor was selected for the Functional Area of Foreign Area Officer (FAO), Eurasia 48E after Company Command. As a FAO, LTC Taylor attended the Defense Language Institute for Russian Language training in 1994 and The Institute for European Studies, George C. Marshal Center in Germany in 1997. LTC Taylor has held numerous staff and instructor positions at major universities. She also has a proven record in the most challenging tactical leadership positions in combat and peace operations where she has served in a variety of countries to include: Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Germany, Panama, Kuwait, Iraq, Chile, and Cuba.
