Dr. Terry Myers comes to the National War College after three years of teaching at the Industrial College of the Armed Forces (ICAF) and a career with the US Agency for International Development (USAID). Assignments with USAID included stints as Mission Director in Moscow and Jakarta and Deputy Director in New Delhi, work in Senegal and a tour in East Pakistan as it was becoming Bangladesh.
In addition to working with USAID, Terry helped start a private, non-profit research company, Investor Responsibility Center (IRRC), reporting on issues of corporate social responsibility. He has had consulting assignments with the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and private foundations on issues relating to US investment in South Africa. He has written books on the role of US business in South Africa and nuclear power development in the U.S and numerous articles on development, business and corporate social responsibility. He has taught at Georgetown University as an adjunct professor.
He received his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Berkeley and Ph.D. from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. Originally from Pasadena, California, he and his wife Lynn have three children, Nathaniel, Anna and Laura.
