


Col Scott Erickson joined the NWC faculty July 2012 after completing command of the 435th Contingency Response Group at Ramstein AB Germany where he was responsible for executing 10 theater-unique, theater-wide missions including rapid response airfield opening and expeditionary airfield ops for missions to build combat power, provide humanitarian assistance/disaster relief or conduct evacuations.
Col Erickson is a 1987 graduate from the USAF Academy where he earned a BS in Management. He holds three Masters--an MBA from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University; an MA in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval Command and Staff College; and an MA in Military Arts and Science from the Advanced Ops Arts Studies Fellowship at the School of Advanced Military Studies, Ft Leavenworth KS. He also attended JPME II at the Armed Forces Staff College and is a Joint Qualified Officer.
Col Erickson holds a master navigator rating with more than 3,670 flying hours to include 147 hours of combat/combat support. He has flown a variety of C-130s mostly in special operations variants/missions (MC-130E/H). He has commanded at the squadron level at the 352d Special Operations Support Squadron in the UK and at the group level in Germany. He has served staff tours on the Air Staff and in the J3 Special Ops/Counterterrorism Directorate on the Joint Staff where he worked CT issues, policies and strategies with the interagency.
