Effective July 1, 2026, the National Intelligence College (NIC) officially joins the National Defense University (NDU) as the university's sixth college.
Formerly known as the National Intelligence University, NIC brings more than 60 years of experience in graduate education, research, and professional development for intelligence professionals across the U.S. government. As part of NDU, NIC will continue its mission while expanding opportunities for collaboration in defense, intelligence, and national security education.
The addition of NIC strengthens NDU's academic enterprise and reflects the increasingly integrated nature of national security education. Together, NDU's six colleges prepare military and civilian leaders to address today's complex security challenges.
