On 5 November, LTG Christos Manolas, Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff, visited the National Defense University. In an office call with NDU Interim President Ambassador Wanda Nesbitt, the Greek Army staff heard about NDU's curriculum and discussed Greece's plans to develop their own national defense university.
After the office call, LTG Manolas toured NDU's campus at Fort McNair and also spoke to students in the College of International Security Affairs. Addressing students in the Homeland Defense Fellows Program and South and Central Asia Program, LTG Manolas gave remarks on Greece's importance as a stabilizing factor in the Eastern Mediterranean and answered questions about Greece's strategic position and challenges.
The visit strengthened relations between our countries and laid the foundation for future discussions as Greece considers educational options abroad for its military officers.
