Renovations Begun on Health Fitness Offices in Eisenhower Hall

A partnership between the NDU Foundation and Humana is funding the renovation of NDU’s Health Fitness directorate in Eisenhower Hall at the university’s Fort McNair campus. The project will create five private staff offices individually accessible from the hallway, a new reception area, and a larger lab area for treadmill analysis and physical assessments.

Demolition work began on January 5, 2015, with ceremonial sledgehammer blows delivered by NDU President Maj Gen Frederick Padilla; Eisenhower School Commandant Brig Gen Thomas Gorry; Humana Government Business Development Director Neil Mullaney; NDU Health Fitness Director Tony Spinosa; and NDU Health Fitness Dietician Nancy Gouveia.

Humana has donated $200,000 to fund the project. The estimated cost of the construction is $180,000; the remaining funds will purchase new furniture and equipment.

The construction should take eight to 10 weeks. Health Fitness will continue to operate from Eisenhower Hall Room 126.
