Fort McNair, Washington, DC –
NDU’s Eisenhower School (ES) and the ES Alumni Association recently hosted Industry Fellow alumnus Kay Murphy, who discussed the value and application of an NDU Eisenhower education to an industry career. Murphy is an Associate Partner in Advanced Analytics with the IBM Federal Business Team. A member of the ES Class of 2014, she graduated with distinction, and was the first civilian to win the school’s 2014 Mashburn Leadership award.
Murphy emphasized the unique networking opportunities available through NDU’s Industry Fellows program. “I found I could build and enjoy relationships with folks in the federal government,” Murphy said, highlighting her work as an interpreter between industry and government.
She also stressed the value of a deepening her understanding of the acquisition process, seeing advanced analytics from a Defense standpoint, and expanding her political and international lines of sight. “I came out of the Eisenhower School with a new perspective,” Murphy said.
