On 22 April 2015, Lieutenant General Bernard de Courreges D’Ustou, Director of the French Institute for Higher Studies of National Defense (IHEDN) visited National Defense University along with students from the College for Higher Military Studies (CHEM) at IHEDN. In addition to the program set up by the National War College and Institute for National Strategic Studies for the CHEM students, Lieutenant General de Courreges held an office call with the NDU President, Major General Padilla. Included in the office call were Ambassador Wanda Nesbitt, Brigadier General Tom Cosentino, Brigadier General Thomas Gorry, and Mr. Leo Michel. Accompanying Lieutenant General de Courreges was the CHEM Commandant, Brigadier General Benoit Durieux, the French Defense Attache, Brigadier General Vincent Cousin, and the current French student at the National War College, Colonel Didier Gros. The office call attendees discussed continued cooperation between NDU and IHEDN and future possibilities for expanded partnerships.
