On Monday, July 21, Army Maj. Gen. Gregg Martin stepped aside as President of National Defense University, a move approved by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey.
Gen. Martin said he believed this was the right time for a new leader to guide the institution as NDU continues to prepare leaders for an uncertain and complex security environment.
Martin has been re-assigned to the Army staff in Washington, D.C.
Ambassador Wanda L. Nesbitt, NDU's Senior Vice President, will serve as Interim President until a permanent replacement is identified.
