On October 14, an energy summit was held at NDU's Eisenhower School featuring Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus. Participants included David Crane, CEO of NRG Energy, and Ira Ehrenpreis, Founder and Managing Partner of DBL Partners and Board Member at Tesla.
Panelists discussed the current nature of the U.S. energy sector, and how the U.S. Navy has taken a leading role in the development of innovative and sustainable solutions to combat environmental degradation. Also considered was importance of interplay between the government and private sector in fostering the necessary ideas, research, and investment to facilitate innovation. The participants concluded with opinions and predictions on the prospects of a coming energy revolution.
